Over the coming months, Innogen researchers will be hosting and participating in ‘In Conversation’ events in which they will discuss some of their latest research and policy work.

Unlocking genetic technologies for agriculture

Chair: Peter Kearns, Special Advisor to Re-Imagine Europa

Participants: Joyce Tait, Innogen co-Director, and Alan Raybould, Chair in Innovation in the Life Sciences, The University of Edinburgh.

This event will focus on the current regulation of genetic technologies for agriculture in the UK and Europe. Joyce will speak about her role in the UK’s Regulatory Horizon’s Council and the report on genetic technologies published in September 2021, and Alan will comment on the role of politics in driving regulatory changes.

Chris and Graeme will be invited to present their positions on the participation of the UK in the Horizon Europe Programme and opinions on the UK Government’s innovation policy
