Two Research Fellow positions available in Science, Technology and Innovation Studies, University of Edinburgh
The University of Edinburgh seeks to appoint two Postdoctoral Research Fellows to work in Science, Technology and Innovation Studies on a project entitled “Engineering life: ideas, practices and promises” funded by the European Research Council and led by Dr Jane Calvert. The project focuses on the emerging field of synthetic biology, which promises to engineer the living world. It will study both the engineering of biology and the role of social scientists within this.
Applicants should have experience of conducting high quality academic research in the field of Science and Technology Studies, and should be willing to engage with scientists, engineers, policy makers, artists and designers.
These are both full-time and fixed-term posts of 30 months available from 1st March 2015. Depending on profile, appointment may be made at Grade 7 or Grade 8.
Salary: UE07: £31,342 – £37,394 per annum / UE08: £38,511 – £45,954 per annum
